Is Adam Levine a Secret Realtor?

Adam Levine just bought a house in Montecito, California.

The property is known as El Miraval, a historic estate built in 1923. Levine shelled out $22.7 million for the five-acre property with a magnificent ocean view.

That’s already a bargain considering that the property was listed for $27.5 million last year.

The main house is a five-bedroom villa-type structure with Spanish Colonial influence. It’s truly representative of architect George Washington Smith’s style.

There are two other living spaces that are detached from the main mansion--a two-bedroom guesthouse and a single-bedroom cottage.

Other amenities include a five-car garage, which also houses another bedroom; swimming pool; tennis court and putting green.

Inside the 12,000-square-foot home, there are expansive living and dining rooms. The floors are lined with Saltillo tiles and the ceilings are made of dark wood.

There is a professional kitchen as well. And a celebrity house is not complete without a movie theater.

There are also several patios outside the house--some covered and some aren’t--that are perfect for large gatherings.

Levine’s real estate portfolio

The Maroon 5 frontman actually has an amazing history of real estate ownership. Some of the properties had been sold to fellow celebrities.

This begs the question, could Levine be a secret realtor?

Let’s look at a couple of homes he sold to fellow celebrities:

Ellen DeGeneres - $45 million

In 2018, the “Girls Like You” singer purchased a Tudor-style Beverly Hills home for $35.5 million.

Levine, who is married to Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo, bought the  12,000,000-square-foot mansion from Will & Grace co-creator Max Mutchnik.

The couple, who have two children, four-year-old Dusty Rose Levine and three-year-old Gio Grace Levine, only had the property for a year.

After spending $7 million in upgrades, the Levines sold the property to Ellen DeGeneres for a whopping $45 million.

John Mayer - $13.4

In 2012, Levine bought a ranch-style mansion in Beverly Crest for $4.38 million. The house measured 7,100 square feet with five bedrooms and seven bathrooms.

The property had a gym, home theater, and spa. There was also a two-car garage with a card room above it.

He made a killing on that property as he sold it to John Mayer in 2018 for $13.4 million. Although, Levine also spent millions for the upgrades.

More properties:

When Levine was still a bachelor, he owned a four-bedroom Hollywood Hills house, which he bought in 2005.

He bought the 1940s-style home for $3.195 million then and sold it for $3.55 million in 2013. He didn’t make much on that one despite putting massive upgrades on the property like adding a home theater and exercise room.

When Levine and Prinsloo married in 2014, they decided to live in New York’s posh SoHo neighborhood.

They bought a $4.5-million loft with just one bedroom and two bathrooms. They sold it two years later and made a profit of $1 million in the process. They decided to move back to California after learning they were expecting.

In 2017, Levine and Prinsloo bought an $18 million French Regency-style property in Holmby Hills. But they decided to list it for $18.9 million just three months later.

Before the Montecito property, the Levines were living in Pacific Palisades on a three-structure compound.

Levine purchased the property from Jennifer Garner for $32 million in 2019. The family still owns the property.

It’s safe to say that Levine is fond of flipping houses and it seems like he’s good at it, too. So, if the singing isn’t practical anymore, it’s good to know that Levine has a future in real estate.
It’s also quite obvious that Levine only has eyes for California homes.
